Community Learning Exchange

“We left with some fantastic ideas on how to move our project forward by broadening our ambitions beyond the market garden. Our host emphasised the importance of listening to and adapting our approaches in tune with the local community — a key to successful and sustained engagement.”

In our growing settings, we tend, coax, and feed our crops so they bear more fruit. In essence, the Community Learning Exchange (CLE) does just that: it recognises that to nourish and sustain community-led growth, a little cross-pollination of ideas and a sprinkling of inspiration are essential.

The CLE supports growing groups to explore and develop ideas. Over the years, countless groups have come together to share and reflect on what works — and, just as importantly, what doesn’t. Groups working in communities have met on a wide range of topics, from forming partnerships to finding inspiration for new growing sites.

There is now a wealth of experience among growing groups across Scotland, and this fund recognises and builds on that. So if you’re a community looking to get growing, or a group ready to reflect and plan your next steps, this is an invaluable opportunity to step away from your setting, learn from others, and move forward with confidence.

If you’d like support to develop your idea, identify who to visit, or seek endorsement, we’re here and happy to help. Read the guidance here.
