Keeping 1.5C alive

For many, a gardener, the simple act of working the soil is an enormously hopeful one: by growing, we commit to the future. It’s clear, that individual and collective action here in Scotland can and will count when it comes to our climate emergency. For gardeners and community growers, our urgent role is to take things back to basics but with more intention and knowledge: doing what we know works, doing more of it with others and asking for help and support to get it right. Wherever you are on your journey, here’s four steps to keeping hope alive.

  1. Nurture your soil,
  2. Grow more of what you eat and eat more of what you grow,
  3. Grow with nature,
  4. Make connections with what you do and why you do it.

The new GetGrowingGreener series (starting in December) will include a regular piece with simple seasonal tips, resources and inspiration from the network that ‘digs deeper’ to support you to keep taking positive action and share the benefits now and into the future.
